     The following people have answered God’s call to serve as officers for the 3 year

     term beginning August 2008:

First Fruits:

     Current Need Income:  $906.00

     Regular Disbursements:  $950.00

     Special Disbursements: $200.00

     Balance:  $200.00

 

Committee Reports:

Just Faith: 

     Celeste showed a DVD about the Just Faith Process.  This fall there will be 4 sessions of 6 -12 participants.  One session will be held at St Theresa.  If interested please contact

Celeste.

 

St Theresa House:

     The Krah family has received a $10,000 NFC forgivable loan which will cover closing costs and the replacement of the water line and furnace in their new home.

Celeste and Rindy have volunteered to go with the Krahs to 2 required home buying classes.  They should be moved out of the St Theresa House by August 1st.

The St Theresa House committee will meet to discuss how we can best assist the Krahs in their move and to discuss preparations/plans for the next potential family.

 

July Shelter Meal:

     The Social Concerns committee will serve the July meal giving the cooks and serves a month off for the summer.  Numerous committee members are willing to help.  Cindy Mumm’s faith sharing group might serve the meal.  Anita will organize this event.

 

Coffee and Donuts:

     Anne will be emailing us about volunteering for coffee and donuts the weekend of July 28/29 also.

 

Coffee Project:

     The Kiosk continues to be a great success for both coffee and chocolate sales.  Chocolate sales have temporarily been suspended to the expense and extra care needed to ship in the heat of summer.     Anne will email us about volunteering for June and July coffee sales.

 

AMOS:

     General information about AMOS was distributed.  The vote for the special 1 cent sales tax will be held on July 10th, 2007.  There will be a picnic and meeting July 1st 2007.  The Rev.  James Lawson, a civil rights leader, will be speaking at the Hotel Fort Des Moines on July 13th, 2007.

 

Personal Pantry Collection: 

     Please help distribute bags after Masses July 21/22. The will be located at all the entrances to church.  Items will be collected on the 5th Sunday, July 28/29 for House of Mercy.

 

 

20th Anniversary Encyclical Project (Joe):

     Generations of Faith and Liturgy will be joining us in celebrating this anniversary.

This theme will be used for the whole parish community during the upcoming season of Advent.

Friday June 15th, 2007 Catholic Charities will hold “Step Up to the Plate” Night, a silent auction and fundraiser at the I Cubs Game.  Please support this cause & spread the news.

 

World Refugee Day will be observed June 23rd at the Downtown Farmer’s Market.

 

The Iowa WIC Program has announced that all Ross formula products (Similac) will be used starting October 1, 2007.  This is good information to know when donating formula to the area food pantries.
