New Leadership:
We prayed about the upcoming change in SC leadership roles. Anne briefly gave a brief description of each role. We are open to having co-leaders and changing the term of service in these roles to 2 years instead of 3. Judy Kendzora will consider the treasurer position. Anne will bring job descriptions to the May meeting.
St Theresa
House:
The Krah family has finished the Iowa Saves home owner education program and continues to search for a home. Their ideal home is a 4 bedroom with 2 baths garden space and close to the children’s schools. Please keep them in your prayers. Anita is keeping in close contact with the Krah family.
Coffee project:
The new coffee kiosk will be up and running by the next coffee sales.
We plan to transition into a self serve program. Fair trade chocolate will also be available for sale.
Central Iowa Shelter
& Services Meal (Churches United):
We served the April meal on Easter Sunday. Leftover food and desserts from the Easter vigil reception were donated. Extra meat was purchased because we had fewer providers. Some new providers joined this month. There was plenty of food and the Easter desserts were a special treat to those served.
Personal Care
Collection:
The collection will be held on the 5th Sunday, April 28/29. Sacks will be at each of doors for us to give out as folks leave Mass. The collection for this month will be donated to St Mary’s.
The Encyclical on
Social Concerns:
Joe Jacoby, Anne Dols, Celeste Egger and Anita Holub have offered to form a subcommittee to decide how best to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this encyclical. We would like to involve students and parishioner of all ages in this fall event.
AMOS:
Anne gave us information on legislation for provisional licensure for undocumented drivers.
Just Faith:
Celeste gave us an overview of the Just Faith program. Just Faith is a 9 month program which involves readings, meetings, retreats and learning experiences about Catholic Social Teaching.
DISMAS Ministry:
Fr Larry provided handouts. This is a national Catholic prison outreach program ministers to inmates, victims, their families and the community. More information can be found at www.dismasministry.org .

Night at the Ball Park:
Bring 3 food items in exchange for 1 general admission ticket.

April 18th - Author Greg Mortenson will speak about his mission to promote peace in
Pakistan by building schools. His best selling book is called “ Three Cups of
Tea”.
