St. Theresa
Lifelong Faith Formation Vision Statement
Faith Formation at St. Theresa Parish is
an ongoing collaborative ministry. It encompasses all aspects of parish life so
that each baptized person will more fully understand his or her faith and live
it out at all times and in all places. Faith Formation will be constantly
nurtured in our parish by providing a variety of opportunities through prayer,
liturgy, service, and catechetical processes.

The Pastoral Plan for Catechesis
Promulgated by Bishop Joseph Charron on December 12, 2006 states:
A. Each parish or group of parishes will have a functioning Council
for Catechesis.
B. The Department of Faith Formation, Catholic Schools Office and
Diocesan Council for Catechesis will provide a framework and serve as a resource
for parishes as they establish and then maintain their Councils for Catechesis.
C. Parishes serving as “Pilot Parishes” in 2006 – 2007 will serve
as “Mentors” for parishes establishing their councils.
As one of the Pilot Parishes, St. Theresa’s Lifelong Faith
Formation Council meets regularly to study the Diocesan 5-year plan and will
serve as the visioning body at the parish level to integrate the goals and
objectives of the plan into all faith formation processes at St. Theresa. The Lifelong Faith Formation Council will
collaborate with all parish groups to learn the vision and inspiration of these
parish ministries to nurture lifelong faith formation at every level of parish
life.
