annual fall fundraiser

Stampede Walk and Pancake Breakfast
The St. Theresa Stampede is the annual fall fundraiser held in October. Money raised is used for items not included in the school's operating budget. A two-mile health walk begins and ends at Colby Park in Windsor Heights followed by a pancake breakfast in the Parish Hall.

The St. Theresa Stampede, now in it's 25th year, has generated over $370,000 in funding for non-budgeted items for the children attending the Westside Catholic elementary school that serves families from nine communities (Des Moines, Windsor Heights, Clive, Johnston, Urbandale, West Des Moines, Grimes, Polk City and Ankeny).

Two Mile Walk
The 2-mile Stampede begins at Colby Park in Windsor Heights and ends back at Colby Park. All participants in the 2-mile health walk/run walk earn free tickets to the pancake breakfast.

Pancake Breakfast
We'll gather together with family, friends and advertisers to celebrate the success of the 2010 Stampede event during a pancake breakfast for the whole parish community in the Parish Hall after all morning masses. Breakfast will be served from 8AM to 1 PM. Advanced tickets may be purchased at a reduced price from any STS student or Faith Formation student. Prices at the door are $6 for adults and $4 for children. Kids under age three are free.

Bake Sale
Another way you can help us succeed with our Stampede fundraiser is by showcasing your baking talents with a donation of a fresh baked item or two for the Stamped Bake Sale held the morning of the pancake breakfast in the Parish Hall.

Tax Deductible Contribution
St. Theresa School is accredited by the Iowa Department of Education and has its own 501c3 foundation, the St. Theresa School Foundation. Gifts to the school or to its foundation are tax-deductible within limits established by the Internal Revenue Service.
