BOYS & GIRLS TRACK
Practices
Practices are held from the end of March to the beginning of May at
the Dowling High School Track. Please have your child bring a water
bottle and appropriate clothes for the weather. The team will practice
in the rain unless there is lightening.
Meets
Meets are at Dowling High School. Your child will
bring home a schedule of events they are participating in before each
meet. Please call your coach below ASAP if your child will not be at the
meet as the teams are counting on them. If your child can only be at
part of the meet due to other conflicts, just let your coach know ahead
of time. Rain cancellations will be determined at the time of the meet.
Everything Else
- Uniform.
If you ordered a t-shirt for your child, the shirt should be in
before the first meet. Shirts will be the same design as last
year. If you did not order a shirt, your child should wear a
green t-shirt to meets or contact Lindsay to see if there are
any extra uniform shirts for purchase. All athletes should wear
black shorts.
- Spikes.
7th and 8th graders will be allowed to wear 1/8” spikes this
year.
- Parent
Pledge. Please complete the parent pledge of conduct
attached and return in your child’s Friday Folder.
- Drake
Relays. There is a relay event for
elementary and middle school athletes. More information will be
available if the St Theresa entry is accepted.
Help
Needed at the Meets
We need a few parents to help at each meet. There will be
someone there to show you what to do and your time is much
appreciated as the coaches will be busy with the kids:
• Finish line: 2 parents per meet.
• High jump: 1 or more parents per meet
• Clerk: 1 parent to write down placement times
and athlete numbers from the finish line parents.
